Case study

Brief

Solvik has made architectural lighting in Aarhus since 1974, selling almost entirely through trade catalogues. With a direct-to-studio shop planned for 2026, the company needed an identity that could work on a product label, a spec sheet and a storefront.

Approach

The system is built on one idea: light is described by what it falls on. Product photography uses one fixture and one surface per image, and the wordmark is drawn with open counters that hold up at 6 pt on a rating plate.

Outcome

The identity rolled out across packaging, 140 product sheets and the new shop in March 2026. Trade partners received a 24-page guideline instead of a full manual, which kept adoption fast.
